Join Me At The Rival Golf Classic

If you're visiting my site, you’re probably a fan. I'd love to meet you - and we have the opportunity to do that on June 24, 2013, when I host the Rival Golf Classic, my favorite event of the summer. Come to Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, New Jersey to watch Giants icons like me, Lawrence Taylor, and Amani Toomer go head-to-head against rivals from the Eagles, Redskins and Cowboys in a day-long tournament that benefits the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation.

If you think you've got what it takes to play a round with the Beasts of the NFC East – and benefit an incredible organization while you do it – sign up now at RivalGolfClassic.com. You can play a foursome with players like Victor Cruz, Everson Walls, Ed "Too Tall" Jones, and Brian Mitchell.

Captain For Life

Since the passing of former NFL player Junior Seau, I as well as many other former football players have been asked by many media sources to express our opinions on Junior's suicide, playing the game, the safety of football as well as other questions like "would you do it all again" or "would you want your own child to play football?" The opinions and responses have been wide ranging with some players emphatically challenging others if they sided against allowing their children to play. But, in the midst of doing these interviews some media sources have taken the editorial liberty to "sensationalize" interviews by taking my comments out of context.

I have my own clear and definitive opinions of my football experiences that I have expressed in my book "Captain for Life". Long before writing the first word of the book, I had many years to ponder those questions before the public and football fans began to hear of players like Junior Seau or a Dave Duerson committing suicide. So, to avoid future misunderstandings or misleading features, I am sharing an extended excerpt from the final chapter of "Captain" to answer any questions parents, fans or the media might have on my positions.

A Message From Harry

Captain is my own first person narrative and personal journey through my early years, my 21 year football career and life after football. It is my personal account of injuries sustained playing the game and specifically concussions I gave and received as a football player and my experiences living with the lingering after effects.

1986 New York Giants
25th Anniversary Celebration

The 1986 Team Reunion was in the words of Maurice Carthon "the best weekend of my life!" Bill Belichick called our Reunion Weekend an "unbelieveable, awesome experience that all of us will remember for the rest of our lives!" 51 of the 53 players and 8 of the 11 coaches including Parcells and Belichick participated in the event. For many of us it was fun to reassemble as a team once again but it was also an emotional experience that many of us never realized we'd have until we were in the presence of one another and able to express what it meant to be a part of The Team and forever linked to one another!
